The Ampersand Hotel:
Making connections in South Kensington
Creating a brand for a new hotel in Central London is no easy task. With a wealth of competition in the immediate vicinity (let alone across the capital), giving guests a point of difference means a name and brand identity that encapsulated a unique style of experience.
The brand essence of connection (between the guest and the area) led us to the name The Ampersand – a universal symbol of bonding.
The brand identity was rolled out to a long list of deliverables from the logo to the ‘London’s most stolen umbrella’.
The Ampersand is now established as one of SW London’s major hostpitality landmarks, with a loyal customer-base and international awards to its name. Critically, it has consistently achieved close to capacity, making it a profitable entity in a challenging climate.
